How it all began
Written by Doug Adams
One Saturday morning in 1998, my wife, Julie, woke me up from a deep sleep to tell me that she had had a dream and she needed to start a ‘Food Choir’. I had the same response that I did when she told me we were going to have our first child. I said, “That’s nice” and I rolled over and fell back to sleep.

Later that morning I woke up fully to find Julie sitting up in bed working out in her mind what starting a Food Choir meant and how she could start it and name it.

After much excited pondering, she came to the realization that the Food Choir she was supposed to start should be a choir that fed people physically, emotionally and spiritually.  By noon it was named Reconciliation Singers Voices of Peace, which spoke to her heart of bringing people together, and when shortened to RSVP would ask for a response from the audience.

It would be another two years before the first rehearsal.  RSVP was born.  This season we embarked on a yearlong celebration of the stories of that journey.
